Friends of Sopot Square – Revitalization

As part of the revitalization project, we transformed the granite-paved Friends of Sopot Square into a welcoming, green urban space. The project included planting 40 new trees and replacing the granite pavement with lush greenery: recreational lawns, flower and herb gardens, hedges, and tall grasses covering a total area of 1,600 m².
Due to the undefined spatial boundaries of the square, we introduced a unifying and organizing element – a pergola. Designed in harmony with the square’s layout and the arrangement of the main tree avenue, the pergola visually integrates the space. The newly designed structure, inspired by the characteristic architectural features of Sopot—its rhythms, colors, and linearity—helps create a central, representative zone within the square. This area, featuring a fountain with a renewed spatial composition, restores its proper prominence.
The central zone is surrounded by intimate green enclaves, complemented by small architectural elements, enhancing the square’s welcoming and harmonious character.
