The City of Olsztyn
The park covers the area of 12,87 ha and is located in the centre of Olsztyn. Restudio Architektury won the competition for the concept of the place in 2004. A functional – utility programme of the Centralny Park was prepared in 2012.
The major idea of the project was to break a negative tendency of the city turning its back on the Łyna river. The project by Restudio highlights the qualities of the river.
The major point of the park is the so called “central square”, where all paths and view axes cross.
The square has a form of an elevated platform supported with steel pillars. The construction prevents degradation of the existing moor. It will be diversified with patches of reed and water plants garden.
