Modernization of the municipal sports stadium in Gdańsk

In 2004 Restudio Architektury won a competition for an urban and architectural concept of redevelopment of Lechia Gdańsk F.C. municipal stadium. The work submitted for the competition was a variant of a football and athletics object with 30 thousand seats. The city authorities planned to chose one the versions for an arena of Euro 2012 championships. However, because of the location (city centre) and communicational specifics, the decision was made to build a new stadium in a different district of Gdańsk – the Baltic Arena.
